Environmental Assistant

What if you love ocean animals but get seasick? If you love ocean animals but don’t feel great on boats or prefer to work “behind the scenes,” there’s still a way to help the ocean! Environmental assistants play a huge role in protecting and studying the sea, and they don’t always have to have a college degree or be on a boat. Sometimes they do important background research to find out what studies have already been done to solve a problem. They may help organize data that was collected. Environmental assistants may also help people reserve programs or tours to learn more about marine life. They could even order the parts needed to fix an offshore wind turbine. The list goes on for these incredibly helpful people of the blue economy, and this can be a fulfilling career on its own. Plus, it’s a great first step if you want to move on to a bigger career in the blue economy.
